Richie Rich’s Christmas Wish

On Christmas Eve, Richie and his friends race actual cars, guided by a remote controlled by Herbert Cadbury. They weave through the city streets and are brought back to Richie's manor just in time for tea. The night sets up the plan for the rest of the evening as Richie is told to change clothes for tea.

During a visit to Professor Keanbean, Richie learns of a new invention: a wishing machine that only works on Christmas Eve. Keanbean explains that the device can alter reality, but only for one night. The discovery foreshadows the upheaval to come.

At tea, Reggie Van Dough laments that he isn't as rich as Richie and wishes aloud to be. He probes the guest’s lifestyle and ambitions, setting up the rivalry. The moment underscores the holiday contrast between generosity and greed.

Richie dresses as an elf and Cadbury plays Santa as they prepare to distribute presents to an orphanage. Cadbury reveals he once was the frontman of a rock band called Root Canal, hinting at his colorful past. They take off in a sleigh, ready to spread Christmas cheer.

During the ride, Reggie seizes control of the sleigh using the remote invented by Keanbean. He navigates through the streets past shops and houses, steering the vehicle with little regard for the consequences. The theft marks a dangerous turn in the Christmas Eve mission.

The sleigh finally crashes, exploding with the gifts as Cadbury hurts his ankle. Richie races to fetch help, but the city he returns to has drastically changed. He discovers that Reggie’s actions have soured the mood and turned people against him.

They dodge laser alarms and finally retrieve the bone using Keanbean’s fishing rod. They glimpse Reggie's parents working as night guards, hinting at the reach of Reggie’s rule even in this world.

They bring the bone to the wishing machine and prepare to restore things, but Reggie arrives with policemen and confiscates the device. Richie, Cadbury, Keanbean, and friends are imprisoned while Reggie brings the machine home. The stakes are set for a desperate showdown.

Reggie tries another wish to gain the power of flight, but Dollar bolts in with the bone and the plan collapses. The device stops working after this second attempt, and Reggie’s mood shifts toward retirement. The group is bailed out, but the machine remains unstable.

Keanbean repairs the wishing machine while Richie and friends come to the manor to converge for the final act. They confront Reggie, who is briefly subdued, and the machine is restored to working order. The emotional storm settles as normal life returns.

The machine finally becomes functional and Richie wishes to be born again. He returns to his original world and is recognized by those who matter most, including his dog and family. The act restores the true timeline and his absence ends.

Back in the normal world, Richie sets things right and is welcomed back by everyone. The family and friends gather around the Christmas tree to celebrate with singing and warmth, reaffirming the spirit of the holiday. The town returns to its peaceful state as Christmas morning unfolds.
