Nossiter’s camera follows him in eye‑shadow, on a makeshift stage, delivering wry remarks, chatting with John Hurt (who played him in “The Naked Civil Servant”), and dining with friends. Acquaintances comment on his gay, effeminate persona and his role in gay‑rights history, painting a portrait of wit and quiet suffering.
