A boy visits a doctor with a red mark; the doctor’s wife lets him in, offers food, and notes his eating mirrors that of her first husband, who died in prison. The boy, his cellmate, recounts the death. Flashbacks show she helped him overcome repression and vowed to marry his successor if widowed. She ignores his calls and frees the boy from repression.
