In 1941, amid Japan’s occupation of China, a man is infected by a Japanese vampire soldier and flees to a cavern, where he impales himself with a wooden stake. Twenty‑five years later, after the Maoist communist revolution, his unsuspecting son resurrects him, letting the vampire reappear and infect the nation’s leader, hinting at renewed terror.
