Purple People Eater

That night in Sunny Hills, Billy learns his grandfather Sam will watch him and his sister Molly while their parents are away. Billy begins playing a novelty song, and a one-eyed, one-horned flying purple alien named Purple lands on a nearby tree. Billy whistles, Purple climbs down, and the two become friends, with Billy giving him the nickname 'Purple'.

The next day, Billy and Sam spot Purple at the mall, and Sam is amazed by the alien's potential to form a rock band. He encourages Billy to team up with Purple to pursue music together. Purple explains he only knows classic hits because radio waves take twenty-five years to reach his home planet. Billy shares the secret with Allison, but their nosy neighbor Donna overhears.

A greedy landlord named Ken Noodle, who owns the elderly housing, pressures Sam and their neighbor Rita to pay rent or face eviction. Rita fights back, afraid of losing her long-time home. The threat heightens the family's urgency as they juggle money, housing, and a new alien friend.

Sam receives a phone call about a potential record deal, and his excitement grows. A second call informs him that Rita is sick, shifting some attention to her health.

Sam and Billy hurry to Rita's house to check on her and introduce Purple to the family. They bond with Purple and reassure Rita that she has friends who will help keep her home.

That night, Rita celebrates her birthday with family, but Noodle shows up with an eviction notice, causing her to collapse. An ambulance arrives to take Rita to the hospital, leaving the family shaken and hopeful for her recovery.

The next day, Billy and Sam visit Rita in the hospital and find her alive and well. They decide to organize a Labor Day benefit concert to save the elderly homes, with Purple prepared to perform alongside them.

Frustrated by the plan, Noodle tries to kidnap Purple to prevent him from attending the concert. His attempt underscores the high stakes of the fundraiser and the looming threat to the community.

Purple goes missing right before the concert and manages to escape from Noodle during a high-speed road chase, racing to make it to the stage in time. Billy and the others worry but hold out hope that Purple will arrive.

Right before the concert begins, Purple returns and starts performing 'The Purple People Eater' for the audience, exciting Billy, Sam, and the crowd with the alien's rock-and-roll style. The crowd cheers as the performance gets underway.

After the performance, Purple waves goodbye to Billy and returns home. The town is left inspired by the unlikely friendship and the concert's success.
