Diagnosed with a brain tumor, seventeen‑year‑old Ryan is angrily resigned to the possibility that he won’t see another year. With time short, he fixates on two goals—publishing his journal and losing his virginity. As he bonds with new friends who meet their own illnesses with optimism and defiant refusal to surrender, Ryan draws fresh strength, and his perspective shifts, showing him that life’s value extends beyond his original plans.
