A divorced Swiss couple confronts their daughter Violette’s life‑threatening tumor. The father, a scientist, removes her from the clinic; the mother, an actress, collapses in tears. Their Asian‑American step‑mother, a physician, outlines surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Ten‑year‑old Violette remains serene, offering comfort as she faces death.
