In the forest, the mare Mirabelle takes great pride in being both Pom’s mother and the finest horse on the forestry crew, where she routinely hauls cut trunks alongside the other horses and the dockworkers, a task she enjoys. After the boss’s son is injured in an accident, Mirabelle is unjustly blamed, sold, and forced to leave her foal behind.
