Plankton: The Movie

After yet another failed attempt at stealing the secret formula for the beloved Krabby Patty, Plankton, voiced by Mr. Lawrence, returns to his humble abode, the Chum Bucket, feeling rather dejected. To his astonishment, he discovers that his wife, Karen, portrayed by Jill Talley, has turned their eatery into a bustling Mexican-chum restaurant. Plankton, who is less than thrilled with this non-evil venture, reacts in anger, ultimately burning the restaurant to the ground.

This act of destruction prompts Karen to express her frustration about Plankton’s lack of support for her ideas. In a dramatic turn of events, she decides to remove one of her empathy chips, which leads her to construct a gigantic floating fortress with the aim of taking over the world. Plankton grows anxious about Karen’s newfound ambition and seeks help from his cheerful friend SpongeBob, who is voiced by Tom Kenny. With his unique hypnotic skills, SpongeBob assists Plankton in understanding Karen’s perspective. During their conversation, Plankton fondly reminisces about how he found Karen as a mere calculator connected to a potato back in the day, highlighting the journey of their relationship.

Together, Plankton and SpongeBob devise a plan involving a freeze ray to help them conquer the planet. However, their initial plan collapses when a human child discovers them on the beach and tosses them back into the ocean. Overhearing Mr. Krabs discussing the Krabby Patty secret formula, Plankton realizes that acquiring this coveted recipe is the key to his world domination.

The duo then travels back to Bikini State University in search of Karen’s original components, which Plankton intends to use to create a destructive mech to thwart Karen’s current plan. Unfortunately, their efforts take a turn when Karen merges with the new mech. Plankton’s refusal to take responsibility for his actions frustrates SpongeBob, prompting him to take Plankton to visit the Gal Pals, consisting of Sandy, Pearl, and Mrs. Puff. The group decides to implant Karen’s empathy chip into Plankton’s brain, which allows him to finally comprehend Karen’s feelings for him.

With a newfound understanding, they rush to infiltrate Karen’s airship to stop her. Karen, determined to maintain her independence, starts battling the Gal Pals by disconnecting from her various incarnations, while Plankton strives to reconcile their relationship. Meanwhile, SpongeBob and Patrick gather potatoes to fuel the airship. Just as hope seems to flourish, Karen intends to brush off Plankton’s attempts at reconciliation by offering him the secret formula. However, Plankton sincerely confesses that she is the real formula he needs, reigniting their partnership in their scheme to rule the world.

Tragically, Patrick devours all the spare potatoes, causing the mech to collapse and restoring Bikini Bottom to its original state. Back in their tranquil town, the locals initially want to exact revenge on Plankton and Karen, but SpongeBob interjects. He shares his sentiments about their unique love story, which successfully sways the townsfolk. In a heartwarming resolution, they decide to throw a huge party in celebration of Plankton and Karen’s relationship, showcasing the transformative power of love in the community.
