A down‑on‑her‑luck San Francisco woman turns to jewel robbery in desperation, barely evading capture during a heist. She flees to Los Angeles, finds steady work as a waitress, and believes she’s left her past behind. Her world unravels again when she falls deeply in love with a charming boyfriend who, unbeknownst to her, is a petty, four‑flushing small‑time con man.
