Fleeing an arranged marriage, In-hee finds solace in meeting Gi-hyun, a musician cherishing his late father's saxophone. Their paths intertwine over the years, leading to a slow-burning romance. In-hee finds work in radio, employed by Young-jin, a Korean man aligned with the Japanese occupation. As Gi-hyun's music career flourishes, he uncovers a shocking truth: Young-jin murdered his father. Imprisoned and sent to a Japanese coal mine, Gi-hyun returns after the war, seeking retribution and finding his world irrevocably changed.
