In a quiet village, Chinna Vandu runs a small kuthuvilakku shop, weaving a life around family, festival nights, and the steady heartbeat of daily work. His two elder brothers, Paranjothi and Paranthavan, are long past the age of courting, which adds a gentle pressure to his days. Chinna Vandu, who grew up under the care of his uncle’s family, begins to see Vanaroja, a dental student visiting the village to spend time with her grandmother and take part in the local festival, through a new, tender lens. He tries to win her heart with little acts of humor and consideration, hoping to spark a smile or a shared moment, but she remains elusive at first, keeping her distance as the festival lights flicker around them.

The festival scene brings a turning point. Vanaroja’s ring goes missing, and her father, Poongavanam, announces a substantial reward of ₹1 lakh. Only Chinna Vandu manages to recover the ring, and in a surprising display of generosity he hands the prize to a poor woman instead of keeping it for himself, because Vanaroja does not yet return his feelings.
