Kuberan, Yogi Babu a small-time crook, needs money to escape from the police. Kumaravel, Prasanna an honest police officer in the IB, grapples with funds as his wife Sangeetha, Shruti Marathe suffers from thyroid cancer, and the money to save her feels out of reach. Karthik, Ashwin Kakumanu a poor carpenter who dreams of a future with Meera, Rittika Sen, also needs money to marry her.

During the 2016 demonetisation exercise, Kumaravel hatches a plan, using Kuberan, to run fake IT raids on the holders of old currency notes; the scheme initially succeeds. Kumaravel then asks Kuberan to stop the raids, but the urgency escalates when Sangeetha’s treatment costs rise. They agree to one last raid, and Kuberan enters a house, walks away with crores in old currency, and stumbles upon Karthik in the house owner’s bedroom. At Karthik’s request, Kuberan agrees not to disclose the encounter. Karthik, realizing the raid was fake, pushes for a share in the money, leveraging the situation.

The money, however, belongs to a corrupt police officer, ACP Ravichandran, Shaam. He learns that the raid was staged and begins to investigate. Kumaravel explains that the nationwide CBI raids during the demonetisation were part of a broader push to exchange old notes for new, and that everyone is racing to secure funds. He plans to strike at the house of notorious corporate figure Govindan, but that plan falters. Karthik decides to leave the group for the sake of his unborn child. Kumaravel remains committed to honesty and ends up surrendering the money to Ravichandran.

Kuberan, with a new team, conducts a second raid on Govindan’s house and pockets about 15 crore in fresh currency notes, while fending off Govindan’s resistance. Ravichandran eventually arrests Kuberan and seizes the entire stash for himself. Yet Kuberan manages to record the entire operation on a hidden camera, preserving crucial evidence. In a twist, Ravichandran releases Kuberan and even shares a portion of the money with him. Sangeetha receives aid from a foundation to continue her treatment, and Karthik and Meera marry, with both of them taking a share of the loot as well. Kumaravel continues to uphold his duty with integrity, and the story closes with Karthik, his wife Meera, and Kuberan traveling to Bangkok to start anew.
