Monalisa

Dhyan is driving a car at night when he has a serious crash on the road. He survives thanks to the timely rescue by his friends. The accident triggers a crisis at home as his mother suffers an asthma attack and is hospitalised.

Six months earlier, Dhyan is a carefree college student known for mischief and little sense of direction in life. He breezes through campus life while his family pressures him toward an arranged marriage. He vows to find a life partner himself, rejecting the brokers’ schemes.

After graduation, his parents push for an arranged match through a marriage broker. Dhyan protests, insisting he will choose his partner on his own terms. A string of bride-seeing ceremonies ends in disappointment as neither option feels right.

Dhyan meets Monalisa, a doctor who seems to suit his taste, and she asks for a day to understand him. On that day she pranks him in various ways, testing his reactions. He realises she isn’t taking the relationship seriously, and they begin to see each other with more curiosity.

After Dhyan and Monalisa survive a confrontation with goons and other incidents, their relationship deepens and they fall in love. The dangerous experiences build trust and reveal a gentler side of both of them. Their bond strengthens as they decide to pursue a future together.

Dhyan is to introduce Monalisa to his mother, but Monalisa’s father fakes a minor cardiac arrest to bring her back to America. On the way to the airport, Monalisa dies suddenly. Lost in thought of her, Dhyan loses control and also crashes his car.

Dhyan is saved by his friends after the crash in the present. His mother’s asthma attack lands her in hospital and she urges him to marry. This sequence pushes him toward accepting a future with a wife.

Dhyan’s family arranges his marriage to Spandana; Dhyan, who has not looked at his bride, discovers she bears an uncanny resemblance to Monalisa. He agrees to the union as his family suggests. After the knot, he is astonished to learn Spandana and Monalisa look alike but are different people.

During the honeymoon, Dhyan reveals to Spandana that he loved a girl who died in an accident and asks for time to accept their relationship. Spandana is shattered by the confession but shows resilience and a willingness to stand by him.

Dhyan’s parents decide to stay with Spandana’s family in America to help with her delicate pregnancy, leaving Dhyan to cope without his mother. He becomes more dependent on Spandana, who now has to take care of him and meet his needs.

Goons who were beaten earlier return and attempt to kill Dhyan. Spandana cares for him during recovery, and the couple consummates their marriage without his awareness. Spandana becomes pregnant, cementing a new chapter in their relationship.

Dhyan learns that Monalisa’s death was not what it seemed and seeks the truth about her. Spandana realises Monalisa’s existence and resolves not to abandon her husband, while Monalisa agrees to distance herself to protect their future. In a tense confrontation, Spandana helps Monalisa as goons threaten them, and she goes into labor, delivering a baby with Monalisa’s assistance; the trio ends up as a hopeful family with their newborn.
