Frost initially views Mr. Link merely as a means to prove himself and gain entry into the elite society. However, during the journey, Adelina encourages him to actually connect with Mr. Link. Through their shared experiences, facing dangers together, bonding on the boat, and surviving near-death encounters, Frost develops genuine friendship and comes to see Mr. Link as a person deserving respect rather than a specimen to be exploited.

The Yeti Queen explains that her people have developed deep-seated distrust of humans over time due to past conflicts and persecution. Humans have hunted them, sought to capture or kill them, and treated them as curiosities rather than beings deserving of respect. This explains why the Yetis immediately capture Frost, Adelina, and Mr. Link upon arrival, despite Mr. Link being one of their own.

Adelina's map, which her late husband acquired, contains the route to Shangri-La hidden in the Himalayas where the Yetis live. This map is so valuable that Frost is willing to break into Adelina's home to obtain it. Without the map, the trio would have been unable to navigate the treacherous mountain terrain to find the Yeti realm.
