Mickey Mouse [Walt Disney] is participating in a lively polo match, joining Goofy, the Big Bad Wolf, and Donald Duck [Clarence Nash], who is having trouble with his donkey. They face off against a star-studded lineup that includes Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, Harpo Marx, and Charlie Chaplin in his Tramp outfit, with referee Jack Holt ready to start the action as he tosses the ball into play.
From the opening moments, the skirmish for the ball whips the action into a chaotic rhythm. Oliver is knocked off his horse and crashes to the ground, where horseshoes flash and strike him on the head. The Big Bad Wolf seizes the lead, keeping the ball ahead of the others, but Charlie Chaplin soon steals it, tapping it with his cane to pivot and race toward the home goal.
Meanwhile, Ollie struggles to remount his horse, hampered by his overweight frame. Stan Laurel intervenes by pulling Ollie’s horse’s tail and knotting it to keep the animal upright, a plan that briefly buys time before the horse bolts away, tossing Ollie and leaving him to fend off further mischief. Stan even pokes at the stallion with a needle, but the horse rockets forward just as Ollie is sent sprawling.
As the game resumes, the Big Bad Wolf regains the pace, only to lose his mallet and instead push the ball forward by blowing air behind it. Shirley Temple and The Three Little Pigs mock him with raspberries, and a gust of dust and laughter swirls around the field. The distraction costs him the lead, and Donald Duck takes charge and drives the ball toward his own goal, only for Harpo Marx to swing back with a counterstrike that sends both players tumbling.
Donald yells insults at Harpo for the hit, and Harpo answers with a playful barrage—boxing mitts tucked into his clothes, a tiny blowtorch puff, and a noisemaker that pushes Donald away toward his donkey. The ball lands nearby, but the teammates seize it before he can strike again. Frustrated, Donald tries to urge his donkey forward, only for the stubborn animal to sit on him, laughing. It kicks him flat as the ball skids to his tail and the pile-up sends him and the others sprawling, including Ollie, who somehow manages to rejoin the contest.
In a furious flurry, Donald swallows the ball in a rare moment of panic, triggering a wild scramble as players chase to recover it. Harpo adds to the mayhem by striking with the head of his ostrich, and the Big Bad Wolf makes a brief attempt to pry the ball loose with a strike, only for it to rebound right back into Donald. Everyone crashes into the sand, and Donald scrambles to hide, but the onslaught continues. He even digs into the sand to evade, and the chaos builds until he rips a pole from its base and drags both teams toward referee Jack Holt. The collision erupts, sending horses to ride their owners as the game lurches into an unbridled, crowd-pleasing encore.
