Mendadak Dangdut

Petris, an egotistical and emotional vocalist, begins her career in the alternative rock scene. She often argues with her sister Yulia and their manager, highlighting her difficult personality early on.

Petris and Yulia are caught with a large amount of heroin belonging to Yulia's boyfriend inside their car. They manage to escape the police and flee to a nearby village, initiating a series of consequential events.

In the village, they encounter a traveling dangdut concert that needs a new singer after the original performer quits. Yulia suggests they join the group as a means to evade the police, and Petris reluctantly agrees, adopting the stage name Iis.

Petris starts performing with the group, living with its owner and manager Rizal. She admires Rizal, and Yulia begins to develop romantic feelings for him. Petris improves her vocal skills and gains awareness of village poverty and hardships.

The group becomes popular and receives numerous job offers, elevating Petris's singing career. Meanwhile, Petris and Yulia feel relieved as they continue their escape from the police.

After several weeks, Petris and Yulia have a heated fight, which leaves Yulia in tears. Petris, feeling guilty for their clash, chases after her sister, indicating growing emotional maturity.

Petris finds Yulia at Rizal's house and witnesses her sister's pain. This event deepens Petris's understanding of others' struggles and leads to a more compassionate attitude.

The sisters decide to leave the house after counting their earnings, but police approach them. Petris tells Yulia to escape and takes full responsibility for their situation, showing her protective nature.

Yulia surrenders to the police after seeing Petris arrested, demonstrating her loyalty. Petris refuses to escape and accepts her fate, highlighting their bond amid adversity.

While serving time, Petris becomes a singer for her fellow inmates, turning her hardship into an opportunity to refine her vocals and find new purpose in her life.
