Marie, a restless 19‑year‑old from a quiet suburb, meets the charismatic Gerard in a café and, dazzled by his charm, abandons her parents and her clerical job to join him. She soon learns he is a pimp who forces her into prostitution, exposing her to a grim world of decay, violence and danger on the streets and behind closed doors.
