This display catches the eye of Ranga Jetti, the premier wrestler in Kanchi, who recognizes his potential.

Ranga Jetti accepts Mayura as a student and begins training him in the martial arts. Mayura, though born a Brahmin, embraces the disciplined path of combat under his guidance. The training marks a turning point in Mayura’s life as a fighter.

While observing the training of Pallava princes, Mayura confronts and thrashes Vishnugopa, the Pallava prince. The display of skill deepens the friction between Mayura and the Pallava court. This victory marks a pivotal rift setting up future conflict.

On the advice of Ranga Jetti, Mayura flees Kanchi to avoid Pallava retaliation. He leaves his home behind and enters a period of exile to escape the growing threat. The flight shifts his path from a local prodigy to a regional mover.

In exile, Mayura learns from his father’s minister that he is the son of Raja Chandravarma, a Kadamba king murdered by deceit by Sivaskandhavarma of the Pallavas. The revelation awakens a sense of legitimacy and duty toward liberating his homeland. The knowledge reshapes his purpose from individual prowess to national destiny.

Armed with his royal lineage, Mayura commits to throwing off Pallava yoke and liberating his motherland. He embraces a larger mission beyond personal glory, channeling his martial skills toward uniting his people. This resolve becomes the foundation for his impending rise to power.

Returning disguised as a merchant named Nilakanthagupta, Mayura gains a following and secretly builds an army. The ruse allows him to mobilize forces without revealing his identity. He begins to orchestrate the restoration of his kingdom from behind the scenes.

Using clever strategies, Mayura expands his domain by conquering Banavasi and the Telugu-speaking territories around Srishaila. His growing kingdom hinges on both military tactics and popular support. The victory consolidates his status as a regional power.
