Marrakech Express

Teresa arrives at Marco's home claiming to be Rudy's girlfriend. She explains Rudy has been jailed in Morocco for hashish possession and that a 30 million lire bribe is needed to secure his release. She asks Marco's circle to help by gathering the money from their past connections.

Marco reconnects with Maurizio Ponchia and Paolino, two old members of their group. They decide to accompany Teresa and bring the money to Rudy in Morocco in person. The plan is risky but framed as a last chance to help an old friend.

Ponchia, a used car dealer, provides a Mercedes offroad with a hidden stash for the cash. Cedro, another friend who seeks isolation, joins the group. They set out from Italy, traveling through France and Spain toward the Moroccan coast, carrying the money and the hope of a swift acquittal.

They cross the Strait of Gibraltar toward Morocco, guided by Teresa and their loyalty to an old plan. The journey tests their friendship as they press on toward Marrakech. The hidden money remains precarious cargo as they push toward their goal.

In Marrakech they tour the city with Teresa, who pretends to arrange Rudy's release, including moments like a Turkish bath and a tattoo. To their shock, the money and the car vanish and Teresa disappears. It becomes clear that Rudy was never jailed and that they have been deceived.

An Italian man named Salvatore emerges, unaware of Rudy or Teresa, but helps them uncover the truth. He explains that Rudy never faced jail and actually lives in an oasis in the desert. The group realizes they must abandon the false lead and continue the search.

The four friends abandon the hidden car and money and begin a difficult trek toward Rudy's desert oasis. They travel by local bus and then bicycles as transport options dwindle. Fatigue and dehydration begin to take their toll on the journey.

Rudy unexpectedly appears and rescues them, guiding them to his oasis. He explains the true motive behind the plan—an investment in a drill and orange plantation. The mood shifts from betrayal to a renewed sense of purpose and cooperation.

Together they install and activate the drill, and it successfully finds water, promising a future built on the new resource. The discovery reframes their adventure as a chance at real, tangible progress. The group accepts a shared fate tied to this project.

Despite the triumph, the group contemplates reuniting their futsal team and returning to ordinary life. The initial enthusiasm gives way to the sobering realization that such plans may not come to fruition. The quest leaves them with a sense of unresolved possibilities.

On the way back, the idea of reuniting fades away. Cedro and Paolino choose to stop over at Cedro's place in the Alps, while Marco and Ponchia continue home alone. The once-tight group finally disbands, marking a return to separate paths.
