A young Indian couple, Raina Deepika Padukone and Samir Salman Khan, meet and fall in love at first sight and decide to marry despite the objections from Samir’s parents because Raina is an orphan. They begin their life together and move to Melbourne, where Samir works as a stockbroker, while Raina decides to work in a restaurant to pass the time.

Their relationship faces significant strain when Samir’s business takes a severe hit. To reboot his career, he decides to move to Singapore and start from scratch. He surprises her at the airport, telling her they are not flying together; she is to go to Delhi while he heads to Singapore to build his success, and he emphasizes that their future relies on his financial comeback.

Just after Samir leaves, Raina has a chance meeting with Aakash Sohail Khan at the airport. They strike a quick rapport, and once he learns of Raina’s troubles, Aakash lends a helping hand through his network. He gets her a much better job at the airport and a comfortable, stylish mansion to live in. Aakash falls deeply in love with Raina, and she also seems to lean on him for daily support and guidance.

As Raina’s residency visa is set to expire, Aakash and his friends propose a solution: a fake marriage to allow her to stay. Initially reluctant, Raina agrees after realizing that Aakash is genuinely good-hearted and wants what’s best for her.

Later, Samir returns after achieving success in Singapore and discovers that Raina is not thrilled by his sudden arrival. He stumbles upon court papers concerning a wedding ceremony between Raina and Aakash and is shocked and appalled. Yet, Samir and Raina decide to give their relationship another chance. Aakash also agrees that Raina should try to resolve her differences with her husband.

In a final twist, Aakash finds love with a woman named Mrs. Khan, who coincidentally shares the same name as Raina and once had a failed relationship with a person named Samir.
