Daata Guru (Amrish Puri) rules a village, owning land and controlling its people. His enforcer Shankar (Dharmendra) and sons Guman and Karan (Akshay Kumar) enforce his will. When Daata learns Shankar abducted and married his widowed daughter‑in‑law Lakshmi, he orders Shankar’s death, pits Karan against him and threatens to cut the villagers’ water unless Shankar surrenders. Shankar must protect his new wife and survive Daata’s wrath.
