Recorded in 1978, this televised version captures Trevor Nunn’s Royal Shakespeare Company staging of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. The original was performed in‑the‑round at The Other Place, the RSC’s intimate studio in Stratford‑upon‑Avon, with minimal scenery and simple costumes; the film retains that circular set and stark lighting to signal scene changes.
