Niccolo “Mac” Vitelli, the eldest of three brothers in 1950s Queens, inherits his late father’s construction trade and gets his siblings into the business. Fed up with Polowski’s shoddy, abusive practices, the brothers launch Vitelli Brothers Construction, building homes with pride. Mac’s obsessive perfectionism and relentless work ethic, however, make him an overbearing workaholic, jeopardizing his marriage and driving a wedge between his brothers.
