Eirini and Stella, sisters who have spent their lives as maids, leave their provincial roots for a modest Athens apartment that looks out onto an open‑air cinema. Near forty, still virgins and entirely dependent on each other, they share only their cousin Stefanos—a man they both loved who has been living in Paris for years. His sudden return upsets the fragile balance between the two women.
