Panagiotis, a tall slim merchant, and Giannis, a short stout violinist, are close friends who become rivals over love. An old photograph shows Panagiotis’ wife Maria in Giannis’ arms beneath a date tree, prompting them to wander the Peloponnese in search of that tree, hoping it will prove her innocence or guilt. Their contrasting personalities create a uniquely comic partnership.
