The first European feature to depict the Holocaust from a Jewish perspective, “Long Is the Road” uses English, German, Yiddish and Polish dialogue. Filmed at Landsberg, the largest displaced‑persons camp in U.S‑occupied Germany, it mixes neorealist and expressionist styles while following a Polish Jew and his family from pre‑war Warsaw through Auschwitz to life in the DP camps.
