On the night of August 4–5 1952, three English tourists—physiologist Jack Drummond, his wife Anne, and their daughter Elizabeth—were shot dead beside their car close to the Dominici farm in Lurs, Alpes‑de‑Haute‑Provence. Two of the Dominici sons accused their father, patriarch Gaston Dominici, who was swiftly tried and sentenced despite scant evidence, sparking controversy over the legitimacy of the verdict.
