In April 2011, concern arose when the shutters of the Dupont de Ligonnès family home remained closed for several days. A search revealed the shocking discovery of five bodies buried beneath the terrace—the mother and her four children. The father, Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès, was not found and became the primary suspect in this devastating quintuple murder. Investigators meticulously tracked his movements, but the fugitive’s trail eventually vanished. His last confirmed sighting was on April 15, 2011, at a hotel in Var. An international search was initiated, but Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès remains missing.
