A prisoner becomes obsessed with a singer auditioning for a new musical. He escapes, and through a series of hilarious mishaps he ends up cast as the lead. Just before opening night the police locate him, but the story continues with sharp dialogue, catchy songs, and clever parallels between the on‑stage plot and his real life. A lively Czech comedy‑musical worth watching.
