Maire, a middle‑aged woman, spends most of her time alone while her husband travels abroad for work. In their large house she numbs the emptiness by immersing herself in tragic tabloid stories. Obsessed with a case of a young mother whose husband was killed and the murderer escaped, she befriends the grieving widow, who would rather forget the past and move on.
