Helmut Dietl’s 1986 six‑part series follows flamboyant tabloid reporter Baby Schimmerlos as he navigates Munich’s high‑society “Schicki‑Micki” scene of the 1980s. The satire spoofs the city’s gossip press, lampooning real‑life figures such as reporter Michael Graeter and publisher Anneliese Friedmann, exposing the glittering but superficial elite.
