In America’s heartland, corn plays a surprising role in the nation's food supply, fueling the fast-food industry and beyond. High-fructose sweeteners, corn-fed beef, and popular snacks all rely on this versatile crop. Two college friends investigate how their generation has been literally grown on corn, discovering it even appears in their bodies. The documentary takes viewers to Iowa to plant an acre of this powerful crop, tracing its journey from seed to processed food and exploring the consequences of our dependence on it.
