History

During the Turkish War of Independence, Mustafa Kemal invites the poet Mehmet Akif to Ankara to counter enemy propaganda and encourage public support for the liberation effort. Accompanied by his thirteen-year-old son, Akif journeys toward Ankara, facing various challenges and witnessing impactful events along the way. Deeply moved by his experiences, he begins the process of writing what would become the Turkish National Anthem.
