Karumadikkuttan (Kalabhavan Mani) is a 30-year-old man with the gentle soul and humor of someone much younger. In the village, his dark complexion earns him the nickname Karumadikkuttan, yet his warmth and willingness to help anyone in need earn him unwavering affection from the people around him. He accepts whatever little work comes his way, earning no more than five rupees for a job, and he works especially hard when hunger gnaws at him, driven by a simple desire to contribute. He carries no bitterness, even when he is teased or looked down upon, choosing instead to focus on the bright side of life and the good in people. He loves his cousin Nandini, a college student, and his loyalty to her becomes a central thread of the story.

Nandini (Kausalya) is a bright, independent college student who captures Kuttan’s heart. Her relationship with a college professor adds a layer of complexity to her life, as she navigates her own future while balancing family and social expectations. When she accepts the professor’s proposal, a quick, hopeful turn in her life seems to promise stability, but it also sets off a chain of events that tests everyone’s loyalties and resilience.

Neelakandan Muthalali (Rajan P Dev) is the village’s calculating landlord, a man who has clawed back wealth through scheming and control. He wields power with a measured calm, and his influence over the town shadows the lives of those around him. He has a son, Sekhar, a man with a reputation for chasing women and wielding his family’s status to get his way. The tension between Neelakandan’s ambitions and the moral boundaries of those around him creates a volatile dynamic that pushes the plot toward tragedy.

Sekhar, Neelakandan’s son, is a womanizer who believes he can bend people to his will. His actions toward Nandini become a catalyst for the film’s most dramatic confrontations. His arrogance leads him to publicly humiliate Nandini when she resists his advances, and he is willing to go to cruel lengths to get what he wants. When Nandini’s life takes a turn that threatens the family’s plans, Sekhar’s vendetta becomes personal and deadly.
