Karamurat, a daring Janissary operative loyal to Sultan Mehmed, is dispatched in 1456 to the rebellious province of Minchionia. His task is to uncover the source of tyrant Mustafa’s formidable power, believed to arise from a hypnotic white powder smuggled from China, and to thwart the threat it represents.
