Ten years after being separated from his mother, Riziki, during a traumatic night in Kinshasa, Amani travels to Brussels at age twenty to find her and pursue his education. Haunted by his past, Amani struggles to connect with Riziki, who now lives with Raphaël and avoids discussing their past. Abandoning his studies, Amani becomes involved in art and drifts through life, eventually finding himself under the protection of a car dealer after fleeing his home and forming new friendships. However, his resentment and desire for a young woman create complications for him and those around him.
