The boardroom is buzzing with plans for a high-profile visit by Chinese officials, including Minister Seto and China’s Minister of Manpower, and the day’s success hinges on flawless teamwork. Yet Chew’s arrogance casts a shadow over the preparations, draining the room’s motivation and putting the entire event on a tight, nerves-wracked clock.

A few days before the visit, Tanya notices a massive pile of rubbish cluttering the office. Lim and the crew—along with Bamboo and Blackjack—tangle with the problem as the security guard Muthu David Bala offers a blunt rebuke. To avoid a bad impression, Lau Chee Hong Steven Woon orders Chew to keep the mess under wraps, and she pushes her team to conceal it. With nails scarce, Lim improvises a temporary wall using masking tape, attempting to hide the evidence until the event has passed. After discharge, they must navigate and endure life in each other’s circumstances, a twist that forces them to confront different kinds of personal responsibility.

As “Lim” begins to understand Chew’s life from the outside looking in, he uncovers harsh truths about Chew’s living conditions and her estranged family. He learns that Chew’s mother—though still cared for in many ways—sifts through cans in her spare time, a sign of the emotional distance between mother and daughter. Following Blackjack’s counsel to focus on self-improvement, Lim enrolls in skill-building courses to better provide for Xiao Mei and to support Chew’s mother in meaningful ways.

Meanwhile, Chew’s attitude and performance at the WAS department deteriorate, leading to overspending in the budget. With the department’s future on the line, Lui schemes to shut it down. To prove their value and save the unit, Chew and Lim agree to stage a Job Fair Exhibition, but it must be achieved on a shoestring budget and with careful coordination across ministries.

Xiao Mei suffers a traffic accident, and Lim leans on Chew’s resources to cover medical expenses, confronting Chew about neglecting his own daughter in favor of a more lavish, carefree lifestyle. Back at the office, Lim and Chew learn the Job Fair’s timeline has stretched to at least three months because of red tape and incomplete information from several ministries, yet they persevere despite bureaucratic roadblocks. Through a blend of grit, improvisation, and teamwork, the Job Fair is ultimately realized, even as pressure mounts.

On the big day, expected procedures are sabotaged—most notably a backdrop that dislodges and threatens the event. Lim bravely uses masking tape to secure the backdrop in the dwindling minutes before the final acts, turning a potential disaster into a near-miss. The team wrestles with further obstacles—okay with quick thinking and practical fixes—until a pyrotechnics accident triggers a building fire. Minister Seto notices the loose backdrop and intervenes, guiding the evacuation route for the performers. In a powerful moment, Chew runs back into the burning building to rescue Xiao Mei, while Lim is moved by Chew’s mother’s tears, recognizing the depth of the mother‑daughter bond that Chew has tried to protect.

Lui tries to grab credit for the improvised escape, but Tan interrupts to demand accountability and to expose the “cover up” plan, which had left his own reputation at risk as his pants were singed by the flames. A Board of Inquiry follows, with various players attempting to assign blame for the sabotage and the chaotic chain of events that followed.

Despite the fallout, Lim earns the National Creativity Award for inadvertently inventing a fire‑escape solution during the crisis. In the wake of the accolade, WAS is shut down, and its members scatter to new roles. Lui is blacklisted for repeated missteps and cover‑ups, while Blackjack and Bamboo explore opportunities elsewhere—Bamboo learns that Tiong has become the CEO of a rival company, though he’s ultimately rejected for lacking necessary skills.

In a final, bittersweet turn, Lim and Chew decide to reenact their accident in a bid to reverse their swapped bodies. The mid‑credits moment hints that the reversal may not have fully succeeded, as Chew still behaves like Lim. Yet the two end up choosing to remain together, marrying to honor each other’s families and continuing to live side by side at Chew’s home, sharing the life they’ve forged and the love that grew from their extraordinary voyage.
