Pilate and the Roman legate Veturius watch deeply anxiously as Jesus is hailed as the new messiah in Jerusalem, fearing a revolt and the crowd’s fervor. Veturius resolves to arrest Jesus at the strategic viable chance. Meanwhile, Judas revels in Jesus’s popularity and seeks to sway merchants, hoping to crown himself king and liberator of the Jews.
