Hu Jianlin, a dedicated and hardworking fitter at Zhonghe Standard Component Factory, unexpectedly receives a transfer order to Zhonghe Group’s head office. He initially believes this is a recognition of his loyalty and years of service. Accepting the transfer, he is unaware that it is actually a mistake that will lead to complications.

Ma Jie, the assistant head of Staff Affairs, is tasked by his superior Zhao Feiyu to handle the mix-up. Fearing repercussions, Ma Jie decides to cover for Jianlin and continues to conceal the error, trying to make the best of the situation and avoid exposing the mistake.

Due to corporate confusion, Jianlin’s simple transfer turns into a series of rapid promotions as colleagues assume he is a powerful insider or key player. His manufacturing background and lack of corporate familiarity make him an odd but rising figure within the company.

Unknowingly, Jianlin signs off on the shutdown of his former factory, Standard Component Factory, resulting in the termination of friends and colleagues. This action exposes the depth of organizational issues and his unintentional role in the layoffs.

During the company's annual gala, Jianlin performs and publicly reveals scandals involving the company, such as the misappropriation of bribes, exploitation of temporary staff, and unethical practices like mixing cheap parts with higher-quality components. His revelations threaten to sabotage the company’s image.

The company president pledges to investigate the scandals exposed during the gala, promising to take action against those involved. They commit to rehiring unjustly laid-off employees and restoring integrity within the organization.

In the final sequences, Ma Jie is promoted, those responsible for the corporate scandals are arrested, and Jianlin himself receives a promotion. The Standard Component Factory is renovated, marking a change towards restoring the company's reputation.

Pan Yiran is offered a full-time contract at the company, finally securing her employment and resigning from her temporary position. This signifies a positive resolution for her career and the company's future.
