In 15th-century Europe, a young woman named Joan feels compelled by God to take action. She rises to lead the French army against the English, who are vying for the French throne. Despite achieving military success, Joan is eventually captured and faces accusations of heresy. She resolutely defends her beliefs and divine mission throughout her trial, displaying unwavering conviction in the face of powerful opposition from the Church and her accusers.
