After leaving her cramped Philadelphia home, Irish immigrant Irene heads to New York to chase fame and fortune. She lands a job as a dressmaker’s model and catches the eye of Donald, heir to a wealthy family. Donald’s mother, disapproving of their match, schemes to tarnish Irene’s reputation in her son’s view, forcing Irene to fight prejudice.
