Inês Etienne Romeu opposed Brazil’s dictatorship and was abducted, tortured and raped while detained for almost 100 days. Though later sentenced to life, she served ten years in prison from 1971 to 1979. In 1974 filmmaker Delphine Seyrig made this documentary while Inês was still jailed, using it as a protest and a show of solidarity.
