After serving four years for drug-related offenses, Kurdish-German Nuri Şekerci returns to civilian life. He begins to rebuild his life with his German wife, Katja, and their son, Rocco, looking forward to a peaceful future.

A seemingly ordinary day takes a dark turn when Katja drops Rocco off at Nuri's travel agency. Amidst her warnings about bike theft to a young blonde woman, a devastating nail bomb explosion shatters their lives.

Katja frantically arrives to find the street cordoned off, discovering that both Nuri and Rocco have perished in the explosion. The weight of her grief and confusion begin to consume her as she searches for answers.

In her overwhelming grief, Katja informs the police about the blonde woman, suspecting Neo-Nazi ties. However, the investigation takes a disturbing turn as authorities explore links to drug dealers instead of extremism.

Facing immense pressure from Nuri's parents regarding Rocco's death, Katja descends into a spiral of drug use. The guilt and sorrow mount, leading to a heart-wrenching near-fatal suicide attempt, highlighting her mental anguish.

Hope flickers for Katja when her lawyer, Danilo Fava, shares the news that suspects André and Edda Möller have been taken into custody. This news reignites her desire for justice as she prepares for the ensuing trial.

The trial against the Möllers reveals chilling details about the bomb's construction, including incriminating materials found in the family garage. Tensions rise as the evidence raises questions about their culpability.

During the trial, the defense casts shadows of uncertainty regarding the Möllers’ guilt, suggesting external involvement. The introduction of unidentified fingerprints complicates an already complex case.

Witness Nikolaos Makris testifies that the Möllers were in Greece during the explosion, leading to further doubt. In a brutal twist, Katja's history with substance abuse is used to undermine her credibility on the stand.

Despite Katja's testimonies, the Möllers are acquitted due to reasonable doubt, leaving Katja distraught and feeling betrayed by the justice system. This crushing defeat intensifies her desire for revenge.

Determined to avenge her family, Katja uses Facebook to locate the Möllers in Greece. With the help of Makris, she tracks them to a campsite on the beach, setting in motion her plan for retribution.

Once she finds the Möllers camping, Katja initially hesitates but ultimately decides to proceed with her vengeful plan. This marks a pivotal moment where her sanity teeters on the edge of despair and fury.

On the chosen day, Katja stealthily enters the Möllers' RV armed with a nail bomb, culminating in a catastrophic explosion. This tragic act, fueled by anguish, leads to the deaths of the Möllers and herself.
