In Lille, insurance analyst Claire Gauthier juggles a marriage, a young daughter, and her job. When vet Laurent Kessler reports basement flooding, she approves his claim and he soon starts visiting her for drinks and lunch. Their attraction is shadowed by a serial killer who slashes women with a scalpel. Claire discovers a scalpel hidden in Laurent’s jacket, igniting fear even as she remains drawn to him.
