Fred bet the family's entire nest egg on his favorite baseball team, the Bedrock Brontos, hoping to win extra money for Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm's wedding. The team lost, wiping out all their savings and creating the financial crisis that drives much of the film's conflict.

Fred tried to ask Mr. Slate for a raise to help cover wedding expenses, but his infamous violent temper flared up during the conversation. This outburst cost him his job, compounding the family's financial problems just as they were preparing for Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm's wedding.

Earlier scenes show Fred's temper causing problems at home with Wilma.

The couple decided to elope after repeatedly witnessing heated arguments between their parents, particularly about money and wedding arrangements. They chose to escape the family drama and have a quick, private ceremony in Rock Vegas instead of a big wedding in Bedrock.

After learning that Fred had lost the family's entire savings on the failed Brontos bet and then gotten fired, Wilma's frustration reached a breaking point. When Barney revealed the full extent of Fred's financial mistakes, Wilma insisted he leave until he could prove he could provide for the family.

The Wedding Whackers were a criminal gang who specialized in crashing weddings and stealing gifts. They mistakenly identified Fred and his group as the marrying couple when they saw them posing for photos in Rock Vegas, leading to a dramatic chase and capture.

While traveling to Rock Vegas to find Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm, Barney stopped at a casino and won big on the big wheel. This unexpected windfall provided the money needed to fund the wedding, replace the lost nest eggs, and pay off debts.

While detained with the Wedding Whackers, Fred opened up about all the sacrifices he had made trying to provide for Pebbles, including the failed betting attempt and attempts to earn extra money. His sincere confession helped resolve the misunderstanding and showed his family his true intentions.

After the wedding, Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm announced they would be moving to Hollyrock, the movie industry's capital in this universe. Barney generously paid for their move using his share of the casino winnings, giving the newlyweds a fresh start in a new city.

After the wedding, Fred returned to Mr. Slate's office. His attendance at the wedding and the positive change in his behavior impressed his boss enough that Slate not only rehired Fred but gave him a well-deserved raise.

Pebbles initially misread a letter that began with "Dear Pebbles," assuming it was a breakup message rather than a marriage proposal. Once she realized Bamm-Bamm was actually proposing with a heartfelt poem, she happily accepted.
