Based on a 1969 encounter, teenage journalist Jerry Levitan, then 14, followed rumors of John Lennon's arrival in Toronto and slipped into the King Edward Hotel suite where the Beatle was staying. Levitan convinced Lennon to talk, producing a 30‑minute audio record that has been edited to five minutes and animated for the film.
