I Love Maria

That evening, Hong Kong's Hero Gang uses the armed robot Pioneer I to rob a city bank. The police are unable to stop the attack as the robot wreaks havoc. Maria, a loyal member of the gang, kills the maintenance staff who try to escape.

Master, an elder figure in the gang, expresses his dissatisfaction with Maria's brutal method. He warns that their violent tactics could provoke harsher consequences from authorities and rivals. The confrontation reveals growing tensions within the Hero Gang.

Maria learns the leader is obsessed with robots and has created Pioneer II, a female robot modeled after Maria's face. This revelation deepens Maria's resentment toward the project and toward the leader. The stage is set for a clash between human loyalties and robotic ambitions.

Chong Chi Keung is fired because he could not photograph Pioneer I during the bank robbery. The setback fuels his determination to get closer to the story. He becomes a keen observer of events to come.

Curly, from the police research department, invents a cannon that might counter robots. His invention earns him jealousy from his superiors who doubt his loyalties. The device foreshadows a potential turning point in the robotic conflict.

Whiskey, a younger member of the Hero Gang, resigns from the organization. He meets Curly at a bar, and their alliance exposes cracks within the gang. Pioneer II is dispatched to kill Whiskey, escalating the danger.

During the pursuit, Pioneer II malfunctions and is taken away by Whiskey and Curly. Whiskey harbors a secret crush on Maria, which colors his actions toward the mission. Curly starts to see Pioneer II as more than a target.

Whiskey and Curly retreat to a remote shack where Curly repairs Pioneer II and reprograms her to obey his commands. The process unintentionally gives Pioneer II more human-like responses. The line between ally and enemy begins to blur.

Maria brings Pioneer I to the shack to kill Whiskey. Curly commands Pioneer II to attack Pioneer I, but Pioneer I's Counteract Bullets Device renders the attack ineffective. The standoff highlights the tangled loyalties at play.

Master arrives and helps Whiskey and Curly escape with Pioneer II to the shipyard. Chong tracks them and performs a comedy skit with Pioneer II to reveal her growing humanity. The skit ends with Chong informing the police, and Curly and Whiskey are arrested while Pioneer II falls back into the Hero Gang's hands to be reprogrammed.

Chong grows sympathetic toward Curly and Whiskey and sneaks into the Hero Gang base with Master. They manage to escape with Pioneer II, but Master reveals that he himself is a robot created by the leader. A fierce fight ensues and Master is captured.

Chong retrieves Pioneer II to aid Curly and Whiskey in escaping from prison. They head to bring Curly's cannons to the Hero Gang base for a final assault. The plan unites human and robot allies against the gang.

Pioneer II battles the gang while Curly and Whiskey install cannons around the base. Chong goes to save Master, and the base is rocked by explosive clashes. The fight tests loyalties and technology to the limit.

Whiskey frees Pioneer II and she fires a cannon, destroying Pioneer I and saving Curly and Whiskey. The leader tries to activate Pioneer III, but Chong and Master sabotage the giant robot and the plan collapses. The leader dies in the confrontation, and Maria falls with him.

In the aftermath, Curly, Whiskey, and the anthropomorphic Pioneer II begin a peaceful life together. Chong has abandoned the pursuit of sensational pictures and moves on from the case. The city begins to heal as humans and robots learn to coexist.
