Rangoon kidnaps the U.S. senator's daughter, Ms. June Dunbar, demanding aid to Chang Lan or she will be executed. The U.S. government, reluctant to intervene in the volatile region, decides to deploy their best operative, Black Belt Jones, to handle the crisis. The high-stakes rescue operation is set in a hostile East Asian country and marks the mission's dangerous start.

Jones gathers a small force to tackle Rangoon's operation. Johnny Chicago is introduced as a money-minded fighter, while Pamala, a Chang Lan operative, joins as interpreter and guide. Pamala proves herself a capable fighter early on, earning the team's respect.
