Namus, meaning “honor” in Armenian, is a 1925 silent drama directed by Hamo Beknazarian. Adapted from Alexander Shirvanzade’s 1885 novel, the film critiques the oppressive rites and customs of Caucasian families. It holds the distinction of being the first feature‑length film produced in Armenia.
